ACTION!

I thought that to check whether the characters match up right to put them in the same picture so here its is.

Stage 1: Line Art (Done before scanning)

Stage 2: Base Colour

Stage 3: Light

Stage 4: Shadow

Stage 5: Adding Hero's New Acessories

Stage 6: The background

I realised that the hero needed a bit more detail to compete with hydran so i decided to give him 2 accessories a bracelet for his right arm an a small buckler shield for his left arm, i personally think these add to the character.

some gestures and emotes

the golden fleece was easier to emote with cos its a free form character, the hero is meant to be strong and the villain was designed with angry look to begin with to it was quite hard to make them have different emotions. the golden fleece and the hero share the same facial expressions due to the hero wearing the golden fleece like a mask.

Hero minotaur form Refined and Coloured

I lessened the sharpness of the character as per Justin's suggestion and intentionally left this character until i had come to a refined version of the fleece so that i can keep the same colours and style throughout .

Stage 1: Sketch
Stage 2: Line Art
Stage 3: Colour
Stage 4: highlights and shadows
Stage 5: Saturation
Stage 6: Stylize

Golden Fleece Refined and Coloured

here is the golden fleece in its more realised form, as justin said the original idea for the fleece to be skeleton-like made it a bit too evil and i agree so i cut back on some of the skeleton and made the head more like a simple mask, the legs i replaced with fur that have shaped themselves into legs.

Stage 2: Line Art
Stage 3: Colour
Stage 4: Highlights and Shadows
Stage 5: Saturation change

Pre-Viz

here are some pre-viz i was asked to put together for our project they're a little jumpy due to just wanting the timings and "key" poses.

pre-viz 1:

Spider-man is stood in front of the camera and is asked to portray a range of with his mask on they start off with happy and there is no real movement the director then asks for sad again there is only little movement. The more emotions that pass the angrier spider-man becomes this is visible by him "shaking" Finally the emotion anger comes up and he starts jumping around and waving his fists in the air appearing to go on a rampage and storms off stage.
Director applauds his performance for nailing the final emotion.
Director yells "CUT!", end of scene and fade to black.

Pre-viz 2:

Spiderman is swinging round and something goes wrong with the green screen, you start seeing some holiday snaps instead of a big city image. The camera starts to pan out to reveal spider-man tied up by his hands to the ceiling and his feet to the floor "for the swing effect"
Director yells "CUT!", end of scene and fade to black.

Hydran Refined and Coloured

Hydran as justin said was a bit too human-like so i thought hey why not cut back the cloak a bit so that you can see more of the modified body with an addition of a tail. i also thought of cutting back on some detail to make it more cartoon-like plus i gave him a staff as sorcerers typically have some tool for their power to flow.

i redrew him in photoshop and coloured him in to get the right feel for him.

Narrative work

we have decided to go with spiderman as a pastiché target. part of the idea is to have a film studio all set up to take green screen footage for the latest film.

The original idea that uses the studio was to have screen tests for the role of spiderman, and of course mishaps ensue.

I have been given the task to model a lot of the objects, here are the models i have done so far. (please click for larger images)

Spiderman (WIP)

Mic-stand

Green-screen

Box-light

Most of these models with exception of the green screen were box-modeled from either cubes or cylinders.

I'll post the older ideas after this.
